Mexicowith its vast territory, has been divided 32 entities Over time, however, political, geographical, cultural reasons and regional conflicts have led to proposals for the creation of new states. In particular, the inclusion of 3 new entities on the country map has been considered.
Born out of the need to more accurately reflect the country’s political, geographic and cultural diversity, these proposals have been controversial at times. Each of these new states will represent a unique combination of local history and aspirations.
The three new states proposed to be named would be in the northern and central regions of Mexico, and approx “La Laguna”, “La Huasteca” and “Caletano”.
Another new state that has been proposed for some time is the Territory Soknuskoin Chiapas, which also appears on the presented map.
Although there is no formal plan underway to create these states, the idea of a Mexico with 35 federal entities remains an interesting one.
The prospect of redesigning the national map opens up several questions about how the country’s political structure will adapt and how it will respond to the needs and aspirations of its region.
