Another single-level house collapse was recorded this afternoon in the central zone of the municipality of Tlaquepaque, at the intersection of Tateposco and Río Seco streets. The Municipal Coordination of Civil Protection and firefighters are already on the scene.

According to the Tlaquepaque City Council, part of the vault in one of the rooms collapsed, possibly due to a construction project near the property, which caused the collapse. At this point, no injuries have been reported, while three women, two men and two minors have been evacuated.

Green Cross staff treated a woman at the scene for a neurological breakdown. Municipal public services are also working on the damage assessment at the accident site.

Just yesterday, another house collapsed on a street in Guadalajara’s La Penal neighborhood. Five people, two adults and three minors, were rescued by municipal civil protection and fire personnel after they were trapped in the rubble that fell on them. Although they were injured, they did not need to be taken to a health center for treatment.

Meanwhile, on September 3, part of the roof of the eastern walkway of Parian, Tlaquepaque, collapsed due to the collapse of two columns supporting it. After the incident, no injuries were reported, however, the municipal security and firefighting coordination evacuated the entire property as a safety measure. In both cases, it is believed that the lack of maintenance of the structures was the cause of the collapse.
